NIED DARNELL BOOKS

You'd think that there would be a limit to the names that an author would answer to, but apparently that is not the case here. So, why did I feel the need to create yet another one? Nied Darnell is the newest! Well, because readers who enjoy romance or supernatural/paranormal magic related stories don't always want to read something beyond their preferred genre niche, as we call it in authorland. Ergo, when I decided to take my history leanings and mix them with . . . er . . . other stuff for Weird West Steampunk, Dieselpunk adventure comedy, and Gaslamp fantasy mystery comedy, there obviously had to be a new "persona" spinning these tales to keep things separate.

There's plenty of history twisted along the way here. In the Covert Cogs tales, the world the Allegory Society sends their agents out investigating despicable crimes in the Gilded (but altered) Age. A 1920s Dieselpunk world of hoodlums, some from other dimensions, some from the world of fairytales, are things under the eye of the Supernatural Investigation Network (SIN). And most recently, Miss Alasadorph Fitz-Castlecutt and her inquiry agent partner, Reggie Whitemayne have entered the scene in a London Gaslamp world.

All of these tales are either novella or short story length, though the first of a trilogy of novel length tales has been completed with the Covert Cogs. It's currently waiting for the rest of the story to catch up with it.

But let's get to the titles currently available!

THE ALLEGORY SOCIETY SENDS TWO OF THEIR BEST AFTER MECHANICAL MISCREANTS !!!

There is one type of crime that the Pinkertons want nothing to do with: anything of a mechanical nature, particularly giant metallic men.

So, who you gonna call?

The Covert Cogs of the Allegory Society, of course!

And Mick Tindale and Ariel Knapp are one of the best teams available.

A Covert Cogs Novella

Kindle only E-book

TRUST THE GOVERNMENT TO DO SOMETHING WITHOUT ASKING FIRST . . . PARTICULARLY IF YOU’RE A SOLDIER !!!

The first thing the men waking up in the hospital with metal parts think, though, is “how best can I commit suicide to escape being only half a man?” That was definitely on Major Colt Webb's mind until a nurse who turned out to be an undercover Covert Cog let him fill in for the partner she lacked while investigating the theft of the medical miracle that had turned him into half a man.

If Samanthalia Gast didn't realize he'd volunteered in the hope of suicide by Covert Cog assignment, all the better.

THE CASE OF THE HOLE IN THE WALL

A Covert Cogs Novella

Kindle only E-book

WEIRD WEST STEAMPUNK IN THE WILDS OF DINOSAUR COUNTRY !!!

Well, sort of.

Covert Cog Mena Ketchem and her partner, Ridley Broxton-Alverdeen (not his real name), were sent to the American desert bordering on Mormon Territory to secretly investigate the mysterious disappearance of 1,500 pounds of newly excavated dinosaur bones. Unfortunately, they’ve barely settled in among the scientific expedition unearthing the fossils when Ridley goes the way of the bones, disappearing.

Her ear to the proverbial ground, Mena begins seeking a man with sharpshooter qualities to guide her back to the scientific campsite and begin a proper search for her missing Cog partner.

Unfortunately, the only man to meet the qualifications has a reputation as the World’s Greatest Villain . . . on the melodramatic stage
